La acuarela es una pintura hecha con pigmento de color mezclado con agua (como el propio nombre indica). Es una de las formas de pintura más antiguas y a los artistas les ha encantado de siempre su capacidad para crear colores intensos o sutiles y mezclarse de maravilla.
Con solo un poco de agua y este medio clásico conseguirás grandes cosas. Pintá zonas pequeñas, creá aguadas, añadí textura y transparencia en papel de acuarela o lienzo sobre bastidor. La artista visual y diseñadora gráfica Ruby Silvious lleva más de cinco años creando pequeñas pinturas en bolsas de té con acuarelas.
Desde que comenzó su proyecto 363 Days of Tea (“363 días de té”) en 2015—un desafío personal para crear arte diariamente con bolsas de té usadas—la artista visual y diseñadora gráfica Ruby Silvious no ha dejado de registrar impresiones diarias en sus diminutos lienzos reciclados. La serie se ha vuelto bastante extensa a lo largo de los años, e incluyen piezas que documentan sus viajes, su vida cotidiana, e incluso visitas a museos. También ha publicado dos libros que recopilan gran parte de su trabajo—363 Days of Tea: A Visual Journal on Teabags (publicado en 2016) y Reclaimed Canvas: Reimagining the Familiar (2019).
Aunque ninguna de sus pinturas en bolsitas de té está planeada de antemano, la práctica ritualista de Silvious da un aire muy introspectivo y casi contemplativo a sus sujetos ordinarios. Cada pieza terminada anima al espectador a reflexionar sobre estos momentos y a repensar lo que normalmente se consideraría arte. Además, su trabajo ha sido muy bien recibido, con exhibiciones internacionales y presentaciones en colecciones públicas y privadas.

Watercolor is a painting made with color pigment mixed with water (as the name suggests). It is one of the oldest forms of painting and artists have always loved its ability to create rich or subtle colors and blend beautifully.
With just a little water and this classic medium you will achieve great things. Paint small areas, create washes, add texture and transparency on watercolor paper or stretched canvas. Use them directly on wet paper, or dilute them on a palette ... Or whatever you can think of. You can mix this good selection of colors as you wish.

Visual artist and graphic designer Ruby Silvious has been creating small watercolor tea bag paintings for over five years
Since starting her 363 Days of Tea project in 2015 — a personal challenge to create daily art from used tea bags — visual artist and graphic designer Ruby Silvious has not stopped recording daily impressions on her tiny recycled canvases. The series has grown quite extensive over the years, and includes pieces documenting her travels, her everyday life, and even museum visits. She has also published two books that compile much of her work —363 Days of Tea: A Visual Journal on Teabags (published 2016) and Reclaimed Canvas: Reimagining the Familiar (2019).
Although none of the paintings of her in her tea bags are planned in advance, Silvious's ritualistic practice lends a very introspective and almost contemplative air to her ordinary subjects. Each finished piece encourages the viewer to reflect on these moments and to rethink what would normally be considered art. In addition, her work has been very well received, with international exhibitions and presentations in public and private collections.
