La fabricación de estas herramientas, tienen la función de acompañar al estudiante o artista, en la realización y concreción de sus obras.
Estas piezas están forjadas a mano una por una, para asegurar mayor dureza y elasticidad, y además templadas y revenidas individualmente teniendo así un control de calidad en cada pieza.
Para unas líneas utilizamos acero carbono 1070, ej. Espátulas, gubias, formones, y diversos elementos cortantes; otros en acero inoxidable calida 420 con el que fabricamos herramientas para ceramistas, escultores, etc., con ambos materiales el proceso de fabricación es el mismo.
La madera se encuentra presente en estas herramientas, los mangos son fabricados con maderas guayibira o algarrobo, y guatambu se utiliza para la fabricación de las estecas de cerámica.

* En la historia del artista *
Paul Kaptein es un artista contemporáneo cuyo arte es conocido por sus apariencias distorsionadas y por realizar un diálogo entre la materialidad e inmaterialidad. “Trabajando predominantemente en escultura y dibujo, mi práctica se basa en las nociones de “Pneuma” y “Sunyata” al explorar el espacio fluido entre la forma y el vacío. Motivado por las energías que existen debajo de la superficie de las cosas, mi trabajo se activa a través de fallas, deformaciones, espacios, huecos, agujeros y fisuras”, explica Kaptein.
Por ejemplo, en su obra “Mute Figure #1”, explica el propio artista, su obra gira en torno al tiempo y la interrupción del flujo lineal. Así, pretende que se deduzca que las distorsiones en el tiempo se convierten en distorsiones en el espacio, “y con eso, el cuerpo podría verse como un portal hacia el infinito”.
Este artista, residente en Australia, trabaja exclusivamente en madera desde hace algunos años. Según él, porque es un material universal que aporta un sentido de historia. “Creo que la madera conecta a diferentes culturas a través del tiempo y espacio, y sugiere una confluencia con el pasado, presente y futuro.
