Salvador Dalí fue quizás el surrealista más popular y uno de los máximos exponentes mundiales del arte contemporáneo. Ya fuera un genio o un artista estrafalario, su legado no pasa inadvertido incluso hoy en día y no podemos más que maravillarnos con la perfección técnica y el imaginativo contenido de su arte.
Nacido en Figueres ( 1904 - 1989 ) España. De adolescente viajó a Madrid, donde experimenta con el cubismo y el dadaísmo y entabla amistad con gente como Lorca o Buñuel (con él co-dirige Un chien andalou y L’Age d’or). Y es que Dalí no sólo se dedicó a la pintura. Su creatividad abarcó el cine, la escultura, el diseño (el logo de chupa-chups) y la escritura… Mucho se especuló sobre su sexualidad (de ahí las formas fláccidas de muchas de sus obras) .Su pelo largo, patillas y bigote no pasaron desapercibidos en el Madrid de la belle epoque. Su vida y su obra llegaron a ser la misma cosa y acabó siendo un showman obsesionado por promocionarse a sí mismo. Se podría decir que fue pionero de los happenings y del pop-art. Se creó ese personaje: provocador, imprevisible, loco…

Salvador Dalí was perhaps the most popular surrealist and one of the world's greatest exponents of contemporary art. Whether he was a genius or a quirky artist, his legacy does not go unnoticed even today and we cannot help but marvel at the technical perfection and imaginative content of his art.
