Diana Dowek ( 1942) es una artista multipremiada que ha enfocado su obra en los derechos civiles. “Pintar es como escribir un diario de mi vida y uno del país, con imágenes”, le dijo al diario Clarín en 2013. Su obra aborda eventos históricos nacionales (como la dictadura militar y la crisis económica de 2001) e internacionales (como la guerra de Vietnam). En sus piezas la ausencia es el eje; el protagonista son las cicatrices de los conflictos, capturadas con una profundidad que, más allá del tema de la serie o la pintura, tienen una calidad universal que puede estremecer a cualquier persona.

Diana Dowek (1942) is a multi-award winning artist who has focused her work on civil rights. "Painting is like writing a diary of my life and one of the country, with images," he told Clarín newspaper in 2013. His work addresses national historical events (such as the military dictatorship and the economic crisis of 2001) and international events (such as the Vietnam War). In her pieces, absence is the axis; the protagonist is the scars of the conflicts, captured with a depth that, beyond the subject of the series or the painting, has a universal quality that can shake anyone.
