La obra de Norma Bessouet (1940 - 2018) está poblada de retratos con elementos domésticos y femeninos envueltos en una atmósfera surrealista, por lo que sus creaciones recuerdan a la obra de Leonora Carrington y Remedios Varo. Influenciada por los pintores del Trecento, esta pintora argentina se valió de técnicas renacentistas para formar un estilo onírico y profundamente simbólico. En 1970 obtuvo el Gran Premio del Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales y el 2009 el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes le dedicó una retrospectiva. Su obra forma parte de colecciones como la del Museo Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas y el Museo de Arte Moderno de Nueva York.

(1940 - 2018 )Norma Bessouet's work is full of portraits with domestic and feminine elements wrapped in a surreal atmosphere, so her creations are reminiscent of the work of Leonora Carrington and Remedios Varo. Influenced by the Trecento painters, this Argentine painter used Renaissance techniques to form a dreamlike and deeply symbolic style. In 1970 she won the Grand Prize of the National Visual Arts Hall and in 2009 the National Museum of Fine Arts dedicated a retrospective to her. Her work is part of collections such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Caracas and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
